The new TTP-247 series of thermal transfer bar code printers offers far more performance for its price than any other printer in its class. Based on the robust design of its predecessor and bestseller, the TTP-245 Plus, the TTP-247 operates at an impressive 7 inches per second, printing up to 4 inches wide at 203 dpi resolution. A second model in the series – the TTP-345 – offers high-resolution printing at 300 dpi at 5 inches per second. Both models offer 8 MB of SDRAM and 4 MB of built-in Flash memory. Gigabytes can be added to Flash memory via an SDHC card reader. The TTP-247 series offers USB 2.0 connectivity, parallel and serial ports, plus an optional Ethernet port for networking. It also incorporates the TSPL-EZ printing language, which is fully compatible with other TSC printers, while supporting the TPLE (Eltron®) and TPLZ (Zebra®) languages. These languages automatically decipher and translate the print format of each label sent to the printer. TSPL-EZ also integrates True Digital fonts (based on the Monotype® font engine), which are generally only available on more expensive printers.
