From June 24 to 26, 2025, CIPAM will be exhibiting at SIFER in Lille Grand Palais, on stand 2-646, in partnership with IP System.

SIFER is the must-attend event for railway professionals. This 14th edition will highlight the challenges of digital transformation and interoperability, areas in which CIPAM is a key player thanks to its customized traceability solutions.

Traceability solutions to meet railway requirements

The challenges of traceability in the rail sector are manifold: component identification, maintenance management (MRO), traceability of complete vehicles and real-time tracking of installed configuration. CIPAM meets these challenges with a complete range of solutions:

  • Passive or active RFID systems to automatically identify parts and equipment as soon as they are manufactured or integrated.
  • Dynamic reading and verification (up to 60 km/h) using intelligent gantries.
  • Customized software interfaces compatible with ERP, CMMS and industrial systems.
  • Expertise in multi-site configuration and deployment, in constrained environments (ATEX zones, tunnels, maintenance areas).

Whether you’re an operator, manufacturer or equipment supplier, CIPAM can help you digitalize your logistics, production or maintenance processes.

The GS1 ID RAIL standard: a common language for the entire industry

The adoption of the GS1 ID RAIL standard is a major step forward for the entire rail ecosystem. It enables railway assets (vehicles, spare parts, MRO equipment, etc.) to be uniquely and universally identified, thus facilitating exchanges and interactions between all stakeholders in the industry.

CIPAM is a pioneer in the deployment of this standard. We support our customers in coding, labeling, reading and processing data in accordance with GS1 rules. To date, we have already identified more than 14,000 rail assets according to the ID RAIL standard, and printed more than a million labels complying with ISO15415 and ISO15416 standards.

Why adopt the ID RAIL standard?

  • Homogenized traceability: all players speak the same language, whatever the systems used.
  • Easier reuse and recycling: clear identification of parts enables better end-of-life or second-life management.
  • Interoperability: data can flow efficiently between suppliers, operators, maintenance operators and OEMs.
  • Configuration tracking: parts can be identified, located and integrated into a precise maintenance cycle.

Thanks to this standard, the rail industry is entering an era of collaborative, intelligent and sustainable traceability, in line with the ambitions of the industry’s strategic contract.

A fun way to discover GS1 standards
