  • Context

    A candle manufacturer deals with a large number of jars to be identified on a daily basis. The current
    system requires operators to manually affix a label to
    each jar. A number of issues come into play. Firstly, operators suffer from RSI and their work is not valued. Secondly, labels are not always properly stuck on, which tarnishes the company’s image.

    Automate product labelling to relieve operators and enhance product value.

  • Solution implemented

    Customised design of a machine to automate the application of labels using a robot arm.

    The solution includes the following functions:

    • A robot arm for label application
    • A PLC to manage object infeed and ejection
    • A PC to install NiceLabel (label management software)
    • A barcode reader for reading jars
    • A GUI to synchronize the 4 other functions

    The panel PC and its on-board software are used to monitor the entire system, with
    basic functions.
